Changes Detected in Google SERPs in Early September

Changes in the Google Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) have seen a recent spike this weekend. While a lot of people were taking a well deserved break, those keenly watching the SERPs noticed some big changes.

A quick check using the various SERP fluctuation and monitoring tools show a clear increase in activity in September, 3rd 2016.

This means that many sites rankings have changed, speculating signs of a Google algorithm update. If they have in fact changed, or how much they’ve changed depends on a lot of factors, but there are many tools that monitor the SERPs for changes that can visualise how much things are shifting around.

Below are some screenshots from Algoroo and SERPMetrix showing the recent timelines.

A DailyRoo of 3.7 is much higher than the average 1.x, it shows some definite activity on Saturday.
